State Excise Department have seized 1,600 litres of alcoholic spirit from a godown in Wadi area on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the department seized 600 litres of alcoholic spirit from Nagpur-Gondia Roadwasy, Shivaji Nagar, Wadi. Later, the team raided Ghatge Patil Transport, Sonba Nagar, Wadi and seized 1,000 litres of spirit.

An offence was registered against godown manager for the illegal storage of the spirit. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner State Excise Department Usha Verma, the action was made by Inspectors D S Janrao, M K Mate, Vishal Kolhe, Jawan Prakash Mankar, Rahul Sapkal, Gajanan Wakode, Prashant Ghawale, Vinod Dumbare, and others.
