Youth makes fake FB profile of girl, held

State Cyber Police Zone, Jabalpur, nabbed an accused for creating fake Facebook account of a girl and trying to take revenge after break-up with her, on Friday. The accused has been identified as Manish Kaurav (31), son of Ramswaroop Singh Kaurav, a resident of Niranjan Ward in Kareli, Narsinghpur district.
 
Accused in custody of Cyber Police.  
 
It may be noted that under the direction Superintendent of Police, Cyber Police Zone Jabalpur, Ankit Shukla, State Cyber Police started a campaign against persons involved in the IT crime.
 
During the campaign, a girl lodged written complaint that unidentified person used her name and photo in creating a fake Facebook account and posting vulgar information about her in social media.
 
Taking a serious note on the complaint, State Cyber Police Zone, Jabalpur, registered a case under Section 66C of IT Act and started investigation into the case. Investigating the case, Cyber Police arrested the accused, Manish Kaurav who confessed the creating fake Facebook account in the name of girl to defame her following the breaking of relationship with him. In further investigation, the accused informed that he had an affair with the girl and he also took pictures with her. Thereafter, the girl refused him for relationship and started meeting with another boy. He decided to take revenge with her and made a fake Facebook account in her name to defame her. The accused was arrested with active working of police team led by Inspector, Vipin Tamrakar comprised of Sub Inspector, Pankaj Sahu, Woman Constable, Kranti Patel and Constable, Ajit Gautam.
