Five including 4 minors arrested for burglary

Azad Chowk police on Saturday arrested five youths, including four minor, in connection with burglary recently took place at a general store and recovered stolen cash worth Rs 4.51 from their possession. “Acting on a precise tip-off and technical evidences, Azad Chowk police arrested Jhamman Sahu alias Vishal Sahu (18), a resident of Arjun Nagar, and four minors in connection with burglary recently took place at Laxmi Pan and General Store. From the possession of arrested youths, police investigators have recovered over Rs 4.51 lakh and a mobile handset,” said Azad Chowk City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nasar Siddiqui.
 
As investigation move ahead, police may recover more cash, added the CSP. Shedding more details about the crime, CSP Siddiqui said that late on May 14 , the accused broke into Laxmi Pan and General Store in a very professional manner by breaking the shop’s shutter through construction tools and escaped with cash worth several lakhs.
 
After coming to know about the burglary, shop’s owner Manish Agrawal lodged a complaint with Azad Chowk police. According to police sources, during investigation it was learnt by police investigators that Jhamman Sahu and two other minors have previous crime record and they reportedly hatched the plan for committing burglary at any location within the city. With the arrested of accused and recovery of money, police claimed of solving case registered with Azad Chowk police station under Sections 457 and 380 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), which amounting to lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment and Theft in dwelling house, etc
