Taking cognizance of her two sensational statements in connection with martyr IPS officer Hemant Karkare and Babri mosque demolition, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has prohibited BJP’s Bhopal Lok Sabha candidate, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur from holding any public meeting, public procession, public rally, road show, interview or public staement, interaction with media for 72 hours. The prohibition against the Sadhvi commences from 6 am on May 2.

Notably, ever since she became BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been speaking about her torture during her detention in connection with the Malegaon bomb blasts to drum up support. The Election Commission’s decision to ban Sadhvi Pragya Singh from making public statements came as a shocker for the BJP as it had already prepared next day canvassing programme.
