Congress leader Rajeev Shukla claimed that winds of change were blowing in entire country and owing to this factor, BJP was losing seats in all states. He claimed that it was for sure that change will take place at the Centre. Addressing a press conference in State capital, Rajeev Shukla came down heavily on Modi Government and said that even during the tenure of previous government, surgical strikes took place but the Congress leaders never beat their chests to take credit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government are the first to do so.

“They assert that they have taught lesson to Pakistan. What lesson have they taught? Actual lesson was taught by Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and to some extent lesson by Atal Behari Vajpayee,” he said. Talking about Lok Sabha elections, Shukla said that the BJP was going to suffer major losses in Uttar Pradesh and states such as Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar. On row over Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship, he said that this issue was raked in 2014 and court had dismissed it. The BJP is just fond of raking such kind of things, he added.

“In comparison to BJP, position of opposition parties including Congress, is good in Lok Sabha elections. Modi government has failed to fulfill promise of bringing back black money and controlling corruption,” Expressing concern on Naxal attack in Maharashtra, Shukla said that every step should be taken to control Naxal menace. During former UPA regime, many initiatives were taken to face Naxal challenge in efficient manner. In Chhattisgarh, entire Congress leadership was wiped out in Naxal attack but still every step was taken to tackle Naxal menace,” he added. On this occasion, Congress Media Cell Chairperson Shobha Ojha was also present.
