Among the eight Lok Sabha seats, which went for polls on Sunday, eyes of everyone are glued on Khandwa and Indore Lok Sabha seats as both seats are having the stakes of BJP and Congress high. Former State Congress President Arun Yadav is contesting election from Khandwa seat and his rival candidate is none other than former BJP State President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan. Indore Lok Sabha seat is important in the sense that Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is in election fray, but she has thrown all her weight behind BJP candidate Shankar Lalwani. Congress has fielded Pankaj Singhvi from Indore. In the meantime, long queues were witnessed in all eight Lok Sabha candidates viz Dewas, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Dhar, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa on Sunday. It was from morning hours that voters started to come out of their homes to go to cast their vote.

It was due to huge turnout of voters that voting percentage was above satisfactory level. The huge voter turnout in last phase of election has even surprised the political parties. Among all eight Lok Sabha seats, Dewas saw heavy rush of voters at polling stations and its voting percentage remained high. Mandsaur and Khandwa were the other two seats, which have second highest polling percentage. Indore Lok Sabha seat was at the bottom level in terms of poll percentage. Youths and women reached in large number at polling booths to use their voting right.
