Weather conditions remained dry across Madhya Pradesh. Even as maximum temperature remains below normal level by a notch or two in most places, but heat continue to give torrid time to people. Khargone continues to be the hottest place in State. As far as Bhopal is concerned, then it is also getting baked under the grip of scorching heat. It is becoming difficult to face the blazing sun during noon hours as hot sun rays and warm winds send the burning sensation to skin.

To escape from the fury of burning sun, people have started to cover their faces with scarf while riding two wheelers and going out of home. Vehicular traffic on roads becomes thin during noon. The maximum temperature of Bhopal settled at 39.9 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal level. Its minimum temperature was 24.5 degrees Celsius. Jabalpur’s maximum temperature soared to 40.6 degrees Celsius. Gwalior’s maximum temperature was 40.2 degrees Celsius, 2 degree below normal. Indore’s maximum temperature remained at 39.4 degrees Celsius.

As days are hot and sun is spewing fire, people are trying to remain inside homes and offices as much as possible during noon hours. In the meantime, people are also consuming cold items to quench their thirst. Hence, sale of cold drinks has increased by leaps and bounds across the State. The harsh weather is also taking toll on normal life in State. Markets are almost deserted during day time as people mostly prefer to do shopping during evening hours to avoid the scorching heat. To find relief from heat, people are using fans, coolers and air conditioners round the clock.
