The loss of two sisters in road mishap at Pardi had failed to move administration of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), but a little prodding from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was enough to send entire administration machinery into tizzy. Wheels of administration moved fast and on Monday Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar established a special cell for resolving issues relating to land acquisition that has reportedly delayed ongoing work at Pardi.

The special cell headed by Assistant Commissioner (General Administration) Mahesh Dhamecha are asked to speed-up land acquisition process. They are directed to meet the land owners and ensure that daily registry is completed so that major impediment in construction of fly-over is overcome. Bangar earlier in the morning convened a meeting and discussed the issue governing Pardi fly-over and other ongoing work in the area. The meeting was attended by Krishna Khopde, MLA, Pradeep Pohane, ex-Mayor and senior corporator Pravin Datke, Narendra alias Balya Borkar, Deepak Wadibhasme, both corporators, and other officials of civic body. The meeting that lasted for nearly three hours discussed the issues that led to slowing down of construction work, the issues of land acquisition and related aspects.

After taking stock of the projects, Bangar clarified that there is no reason for delaying work on fly-over from Gomti Hotel Square upto Pardi Octroi Post as this stretch does not have any issue of land acquisition. Therefore officials monitoring the work should give priority for completion of this work. For land acquisition officials need to expedite the process and the issue should not be kept lingering or else officials are liable for administrative action, the Municipal Commissioner further warned.

To ensure that all targets relating to Pardi issue are resolved, Municipal Commissioner will daily held meeting so that the project work is speeded-up. Also instructions were issued to daily action on part of anti-encroachment squad on the Pardi area. This will help in resolving the problem of shortage of road width. National Highway Authority of Indian (NHAI) has agreed to provide poclain and tipper for anti-encroachment drive. Apart from administration, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders too toured the Pardi area to get acquainted with problems faced by citizens. Pohane along with team of NMC officials inspected the ongoing work to understand the problems for slowing down of construction work. Deepak Wadibhasme, Chairperson, Lakadganj Zone, corporators Vaishali Rohankar, Manoj Agrawal, Devendra Vaidya, Vaibhav Sarokar, NHAI's Project Director N L Yetokar, and representatives of contractor, SMS Infrastructure Ltd. which had tied-up with Gannon Dunkerley were also present during visit of officials and office bearers.
