Sex racket busted, ten, including 4 women, held

In a joint operation by Crime Branch and Mahila Thana Police, a sex racket being operated at posh Arera Colony was busted and ten persons, including four women, were arrested who were involved in prostitution, on Monday. The key accused used to sell liquor from his house. ASP (Crime) Nischal Jharia said that acting on a tip-off, regarding visiting of different people in a house no E 5/77, we roped in personnel from Mahila Thana and the joint police team raided the house and nabbed four women and six men from the house. We found some people in compromising position and some objectionable objects were also found from the spot. In the raid, police have recovered 60 litres of liquor.
 
Police found that the main accused Ashutosh Vajpayee used to operate sex racket and supply liquor to the people visiting as customers. The nabbed persons revealed that the owner of the house, Ashutosh Vajpayee was operating the racket and used to provide liquor to the customers on demand at very high rates. The other accused were identified as Mithlesh Punera, Krishan GC, Sunil Dubey of Sadar Jabalpur, Naveen Jaat of Narsinghpur and Prem Oli of Bheem Nagar Bhopal while three women were also nabbed in the raid. Out of the arrested four women, two are from Jabalpur, one hails from Lucknow whereas the remaining is from Bhopal itself.
 
The main accused Ashutosh has been booked for more than half a dozen crimes by MP Nagar police. He was earlier also arrested by Habibganj police in the past for operating sex racket. After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 4, 5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and section 34 (2) of the Excise Act. The action was taken after several complaints were received by the police in the past and based on the complaint raid was conducted. Police said that more persons involved in the sex racket would be nabbed in the further investigation.
