Two robbers on looting spree arrested

After a spree of loot incidents in different parts of State capital, Jehangirabad police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a gang of two robbers from near a gas agency office in Barkhedi who were involved in five robbery incidents and recovered valuables over Rs 70,000 from their possession in the evening on Monday. Additional Superintendent of Police (Zone-1) Akhil Patel, addressing to mediapersons said that acting on a tip-off two miscreants were nabbed near Barkhedi and when they were searched robbed valuables were recovered from their possession. The two were identified as Gulshan Bundela (18), son of Raju Bundela, a resident of Archarya Narendra Nagar, and Sohan alias Sonu Batham(20), son of Murlidhar Batham, a resident of Barkhedi.
 
Later, in the investigation they confessed of robbery of mobile phone around two months ago from a woman shopkeeper in Koh-e-Fiza while she was at the Everyday Shop. The two were nabbed and a scooter was recovered from their possession which was owned by Shabbir. Police would investigate that the scooter was burgled or it was bought from money collected from robbery and other crimes. The two were traced in CCTV grabs with a black colour Pulsar 150 CC bike bearing registration number MP04 QQ-4835 which was used by the miscreants.
 
The two robbed purse on Monday from a victim Firdaus who travelling in auto rickshaw driven by her husband Anwar Ahmad near Machli Ghar in Jehangirabad area. Police have recovered a gold chain, one mobile phone, one purse and Rs 6,300 cash. The details of the two would be investigated. In the investigation, accused have confessed five robberies in the past in Piplani, MP Nagrar, Ashoka Garden, TT Nagar and Habibganj area. The accused told the police that to buy expensive goods they would target women carrying their purse and would rob them at secluded places. They used to dump the mobile phones in the lower lake to evade being traced.
