Youth stabbed to death in broad daylight

A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death in broad daylight at GE Road in front of the Government District Hospital on Tuesday morning. Owing to some petty dispute, the accused stabbed the victim with a sharp object (hessian bag sewing needle). Although the victim was soon rushed to the hospital but he died on the way. Meanwhile, the accused, who had escaped on his motorbike, was arrested by a police team from Nayapara area of the city.
 
Sources informed that the deceased Vijay Kumar Sahu alias Golu (27 years), son of late Tijau was a resident of Kundrapara, Durg. Meanwhile, the accused Prashant Barle (25 years), son of Teerath Ram is a resident of Anand Nagar, behind Central Library, Durg. The accused was previously a driver and few days ago he left his job after working in different medical stores. The deceased Vijay was also a driver and was acquainted to the accused. The deceased had borrowed some money from the accused and he had failed in timely returning the money.
 
At around 11 AM on Tuesday, while Vijay was present in the taxi stand situated in front of the district hospital, the accused went there on his motorcycle and abused him publicly for failing to repay the money. In a fit of rage, the accused attacked the victim with a needle and stabbed him multiple times. The accused then escaped on his motorbike while Vijay was rushed to the hospital by his friends and he was declared brought dead on arrival at the hospital. On information, various police teams also launched massive hunt to nab the culprit. After the police reliably learnt that the accused had fled towards Baghera, it launched massive search in the area and succeeded in arresting the accused from Nayapara. Meanwhile, Kotwali Police have registered an offence against the accused under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are investigating further.
