Chief Minister and President of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Bhupesh Baghel congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections-2019.

Talking to mediapersons at state party office Rajiv Bhawan here on Thursday evening, Bhupesh Baghel said that the party accepted and welcomed the mandate of the people of the country expressing faith on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Baghel expressed gratitude towards the party workers, who worked hard for the party candidates in the elections. He also expressed gratitude towards the officials to conduct free and fair elections in the State.

Replying to a query on the party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister said that the BJP contested the election on nationalism issue and the people of the country acknowledged it. The Congress party will review the poor performance of the party in the elections in the state, Baghel said. Cabinet Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, CPCC In-charge General Girish Dewangan, Treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal, General Secretary Shailesh Nitin Trivedi and other party leaders were present at the press conference.
