Country entering into new era with BJP’s win: Dr Raman Singh
   Date :25-May-2019

The country is entering into a new era because it is second time in the political history that a political party got the opportunity to form a government with absolute majority, said Bharatiya Janata Party National Vice President Dr Raman Singh,.

Addressing media persons, Dr Singh said the golden aspect of this Lok Sabha election is that people have applied brakes on the politics of casteism and rejected dynasty politics. In Chhattisgarh, despite major setbacks which the party received in assembly elections just five months back, BJP made a comeback winning nine out of eleven seats. Time has come that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel should look into the mirror himself and retrospect that whose time has come to move out with the ‘Jhola’ (bag), said the BJP National Vice President while reacting on the Chief Minister’s tweet made a day ahead of results for PM Modi.

Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Dr Singh said the Chief Minister had claimed that Congress will win all 11 Lok Sabha seats. But people who’ve become fed up from the anarchy prevailing in the state, have given it a befitting reply and limited it to merely two seats. He said the incumbent government is indulged in ‘Badlapur Politics’.

Commenting on the campaigning of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Dr Singh said Congress had lost miserably in all Lok Sabha constituencies where the Chief Minister had campaigned. He had been to Amethi where he camped for over 10 days apart from carrying out campaigning in Bhopal, Jabalpur and Varanasi and people uprooted Congress in all these constituencies.

Above all, the Chief Minister failed miserably in his home constituency Durg as well, where BJP won by the highest margin of nearly 4 lakh votes in the state. The Congress was defeated even from the booth of Chief Minister and in less than five months, BJP have created history by regaining lead over Congress in 66 Assembly segments. Apart from the Chief Minister, it is the home constituency of four Ministers as well. Congress won the assembly elections through big slogans and fake promises. Now after five months, people understood the misleading politics of Congress and gave a befitting reply.

Earlier, Dr Raman Singh extended his best wishes and congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President Amit Shah and 11 crore BJP office-bearers and workers from all over the country, on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, Dr Singh said the Lok Sabha Elections - 2019 being held for the constitution of 17th Lok Sabha was significant for the people. Today NDA has collectively won 352 seats and for the first time BJP has crossed the mark of 300 seats individually by winning 303 seats. He said it is a great achievement for a party which had started from only 2 Members in Lok Sabha. He added that this is the seventh time since 1996 that BJP had been able to win majority number of seats for Lok Sabha from Chhattisgarh region.

Answering to a query, who might be selected for the new cabinet of PM Modi, Dr Singh said it is for the Prime minister to decide as it is his prerogative. On his role in centre, he said he’s already in as party’s National Vice President. On his retirement, he remarked he’s working perfectly and have been instrumental in the BJP’s comeback in Chhattisgarh, there’s time for it.
