DGP inaugurates new modern gymnasium at police headquaters

Aiming to motivate police officers and personnel posted at Police Headquarter at Naya Raipur, Director General of Police (DGP) D M Awasthi on Friday inaugurated a modern gymnasium at PHQ’s ground floor.
 
The gym with modern equipments has been started under the guidance of Special Director General (Planning and Provisions) R K Vij while the special efforts for its setup was made by Deputy Superintendent of Police (traffic) Satish Thakur, DSP (Lines) M S Chandra and Platoon Commander Solomon. As a move to make officials and personnel of police department physically fit, PHQ last year allocated budget for setting-up of gymnasium at district headquarters and armed battalions. Efforts are being made for setting up of gym at big police stations in districts.
 
The modern gym at PHQ is comprised of equipments including lat-pull down, functional trainer, bicep curl, leg press, hack squat, Olympic prone bench, dumbbell rack, weight plate rack, Olympic rod, pec-deck machine, treadmill, cross-trainer, spin bike and others.
 
On this occasion, Special DG (Intelligence) Sanjay Pillai, SDG R K Vij, Additional Director General of Police (CID) Ashok Juneja and others were present.
