Alliance Air to connect Raipur, Bhubaneswar with Jharsuguda

Just few days after the private carrier Indigo suspended its Raipur-Bangalore flight for a month period citing operational reasons, the civil aviation sector of Chhattisgarh, particularly for the air-flyers, as Alliance Air on Saturday announced to connect two state capitals – Ranchi and Raipur, in addition to Jharsuguda, the industrial belt of Odisha. Alliance Air, the subsidiary company of Air India Limited, has affirmed to start daily flight operations from June 1st onwards to inter-connect the three cities under Regional Connectivity (RCS) also known as Udega Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) Scheme.
 
“The airline company has been awarded five routes viz. Kolkata, Ranchi, Bhubaneshwar, Jharsuguda and Raipur under the scheme. Already, the company has opened the online booking of the flight tickets,” Rakesh Ranjan Sahay, Airport Director (APD), Swami Vivekananda Airport (SVA) told The Hitavada over phone.
 
The APD further informed that the commencement of flight on these will benefit a lot to government officials, employees and other business houses, who have eagerly waiting for the resumption of flights on these routes. “Already, the airline has necessary infrastructure set-up at SVA and have already started ticket bookings,” he said, adding further that the Alliance Air shall operate ATR-72 type aircraft on these routes with a seating capacity for 72 passengers.
