Patole, Wanjari, Pawar, Cong workers booked for ruckus at counting centre

Cops registered two separate cases against Congress leaders on complaint lodged by Election officials 
 
Congress leaders Nana Patole, Adv Abhijeet Wanjari and others have been booked by Kalamna police for creating scene at the counting centre and also misbehaving with election officials on-duty at the centre in Kalamna Market Yard during the counting of votes on Thursday.
 
The police have registered two different cases against the Congress leaders on the basis of complaint given by Election Officials. In the first case, the police booked Patole, Wanjari and around 10 Congress workers under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act for misbehaving with election officials and shouting slogans at East Nagpur Assembly counting centre on Thursday at 7.15 pm.
 
Shouting slogans at the counting centre is violation of Section 37 (a) of Maharashtra Police Act. The Congress leaders had taken objection over Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) alleging mismatch in polled votes showing in the EVM and statistics of polled votes given by the administration to them. While in another case, Patole, corporator Bunty Shelke, Prashant Pawar and five Congress workers have been booked by the police for entering the dais of Returning Officer.
