Youth kills friend by slitting throat, surrenders

Sensation gripped city’s Gokul Nagar locality under Tikrapara police station on Saturday when a 28-year-old youth allegedly killed his friend by slitting his throat over a dispute of money transaction and surrendered before police. “The accused identified as Ejaj Ali (28) killed his friend Mohammad Akhil (39) over an issue of money transaction.
 
The accused has killed Akhil by slitting his throat with a sharp-edged weapon. After killing Akhil, Ejaj turned up at Tikrapara police station along with a sharp-edged weapon and surrendered,” Tikrapara Station House Officer (SHO) Yakub Memon told The Hitavada over phone.
 
After being informed about the murder that took place at around 4:30 pm, a police team along with experts from cyber cell and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) rushed to Gokul Nagar for undertaking Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), added the SHO. According to police sources, in preliminary police investigation, it was learnt that 2-3 years back, Ejaj had taken money from Akhil and failed to return it back. A heated exchange took place between the duo today over transaction of money and in fit of rage, Ejaj killed Akhil by slitting his throat. Based on investigation and recovery of weapon used in the crime, police have registered an offence against the accused under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), which amounting to punishment for murder, and started investigation, said police sources.
