Nagpur slides to 9th position in HSC results; Amravati improves to 3rd

The result of HSC dominated by girls as in every faculty girls topped and outshone boys
 
 
In HSC result, the examination of which was conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Vidarbha region showed a mixed performance. While Nagpur went down to 9th place in State by scoring 82.51 per cent result (last year it was 87.57%), Amravati divisional board improved its result as it rose to 3rd spot in State from 6th. Last year it had scored 88.08% result while this year it scored 87.55% result. In 2017 Amravati rose to 5th position. The result of Nagpur had failed to improve in 2017 also.
 
 
 
Mumbai stood at last spot in 2017, in 2018 it showed slight improvement by rising to 8th spot. This year it maintained its 8th position. This year total pass percentage for Maharashtra state is 85.88% which is below than what it scored in 2018 which was 88.41%. Girls outperformed boys by scoring 90.25% (last year it was 92.36%) as against 82.40% (last year it was 85.23%) by boys. Konkan topped amongst all divisions with 93.23% (last year 94.80%). Kanak Gajbhiye of Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi with 94.77 is probable City topper, Ishika Satija of KDM College topped in Commerce with 96.3%; Pakhi Mor with 95.7% and Lakshmishree Iyer with 94.9% both of Hislop College excelled in Arts.
 
The examination was conducted between February 21 and March 20, 2019. In Nagpur division a total of 1,58,427 students were registered. Out of them, 1,30,632 students appeared and 1,30,632 students passed. The pass percentage is 82.51. Result of Nagpur division has gone down by 5.06% than it score of last year. 7,726 students have registered themselves as repeaters. A total of 7,718 students appeared. Out of the total appeared, 1,736 students passed.
 
The pass percentage of the repeater is 22.49% (last year 33.51%). In Nagpur division Gondia topped the table with 87.99 per cent and Gadchiroli secured the lowest spot with 68.80% (last year 80.927%). Gadchiroli topped the table in the number of cases of act of copying with 46 (last year 46). Students willing to go for retotalling will have to apply to respective Divisional Board between May 29 and June 7. The Board has made arrangement to make available photocopy of answersheet if demanded by students.
 
The interested students may apply after on-line declaration of result. They can apply between May 29 and June 17 by depositing required fees. Students can submit their forms on-line for examinations to be conducted in September/October 2019 and the dates of the same will be declared later. The Board had started Class Improvement Scheme in the year 2008. This scheme was started with a purpose to give students a chance to improve their grades. Students who appeared in Summer-2019 will have a chance of appearing in the examination in October-2019 and February/March-2020. The HSC supplementary examination will begin in July 2019 because of which the examination would not be held in September/October 2019. The Board has begun revaluation facility from February/ March-2013. For revaluation, photocopy of answersheet must be procured. After procuring photocopy, application for revaluation should be made within five days with required fee.
