Protesting the postponement of Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CGPET) and Pre-Pharmacy Test (PPhT), scheduled to be held across 27 districts of Chhattisgarh on Thursday, in the final moments, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) stated that the failure on the part of Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB) in conducting the examinations has dampened the spirits of students who’re preparing for the said examinations.

The BJYM organised a silent protest in this direction at Ambedkar Chowk on Thursday. BJYM State President Vijay Sharma while expressing strong reservation on postponement of these competitive examinations due to failure of CHiPS server on Wednesday evening raised the question as to why servers in Bhupesh government continues to fail time and again. He expressed doubt whether the Congress government is preparing for engineering entrance scam.

He said the Chief Minister along with his whole cabinet is out of state on election campaigning while anarchy is prevailing in State. Everyday new situations are cropping up like rampant power cuts, sugarcane farmers lighting their standing sugarcane crops, salaries not being paid to employees as well as several other irregularities. Sharma said while anarchy is prevailing in State, its Chief Minister busy in election campaigning in other states and boasting there. He said during 15 years of BJP rule, there was not a single instance of server failure, what happened in these last four months where all government mechanisms seems to have failing. In March, when people were striving hard to get payments against their pending bills, the treasury server remained dysfunctional for a long period leaving the employees and pension beneficiaries struggle for every penny.

All payments against construction works went into pending. Now, that the treasury server has started functioning, the CGPEB server failed. Commenting on the development ABVP office-bearers including Bhupendra Nag, Sanni Kesari and others stated that it is a major negligence on the part of department which has put the hopes of students in jeopardy. Since CGPEB holds back to back competitive examinations, cancellation of two examinations has created problems for students who were due to appear in these examinations. Since the examinations were cancelled in last moment, many candidates didn’t get the said information and were subjected to hardships. Now that the CGPEB will be announcing fresh dates, it would again create problems for students who will have to travel again in the scorching heat-wave conditions.

It is worth mentioning here that as many as 18,947 candidates from all over the state were enrolled for CGPET while 18,538 candidates were enrolled for PPhT. Cong welcomes decision of postponement Congress party has welcomed the decision of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel led Congress government to postpone the Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CGPET) and Pre-Pharmacy Test (PPhT), which were scheduled to be held on Thursday.

The Congress party termed the postponement of the exams as Bhupesh Baghel’s bold decision. CPCC’s Communication Department Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was politicising the cancellation of the CGPET and PPHT, saying that a conspiracy was created in the cancellation of both exams and because of it, the candidates suffered a lot. The Congress government wants that not a single student should be deprived of appearing in the exams, he said. The CGPET and PPHT were postponed after the server of CHiPS failed on late Wednesday evening. Thousands of candidates could not download their admit card. Bhupesh Baghel government took the cognizance of the postponement of the exams. In this matter, the show cause notices were issued to eight officials, Trivedi claimed. The Congress government will announce new date for the exams and not a single candidate will be deprived of appearing in the exams, stated the Congress leader.
