TWO jawans of Buldana district achieved martyrd omin the land mine blast by the Naxals in the Jambhurkheda of Gadchiroli district on Maharashtra Day. Sarjeraoali as Sandeep Eknath Kharde (30), resident of Aland village of Deulgaonraja taluka of Buldana district, and Raju Narayan Gaikwad(32),resident of Mehkar, who were part of the C-60 Commandos of the Maharashtra Police received martyrdom in the Naxal attack on Wednesday.

Parents of Raju GaikwadleftforGadchiroliafter getting the news of the blast.The martyr’s family lives intheward no 7 of the Annabhau Sathe Nagar. Gaiwad’s elder brother whowas 40 passed away due to illness two years ago. The martyr is survived by daughter Gayatri (5), son Samarth, 8- month-old, and a huge family to mourn the loss. Gaiwad joined the police force in 20 s 09. Martyr Eknath Kharde joined the police force in 2011. He leaves behind wife Swati, daughter Nayana (3), mother, father and a brother to mourn the loss. Meanwhile, the family left for Gadchiroli after getting information of the blast. Lastrites on the martyrs will be performed as per the directions of the higher-level authorities, informed Buldana SP Dr Dilip Bhujbal.

YAVATMAL: Agraman Bakshi Rahate, resident of Taroda village of Arni taluka,received martyrdom in the land mine blast at Jambhulkheda village near Kurkheda in Gadchiroli on Wednesday. A pall of gloom descended on Taroda village after the news of blast reached the village. Rahate’s brother AshishRahateis a police patil at Taroda. His brother and other relatives left for Gadchiroli on getting information. Agr aman Rahate belonged to a poor family.His father Bakshi Rahate was a farmer and passed away on 2004.

Later his mother Nirmala earned bread and butter by doing farm works. He has three siblings brother Ashish and sisters Sukena and Reena who are married. He joined the Force on February 2, 2011, after completing his education and later married Rashmi. He leaves behind wife, daughters Gragi (4) and Arushi (2), mother, siblings and entire family tomourn the loss.
