Nagpur Government Polytechnic College has received accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for its nine branches, recently.Addressing a press conference, Principal of the college Prof C S Thorat said, “Nagpur Government Polytechnic is the first college in the State that awarded NBA accreditation for their nine branches.” The College administration fulfil the norms to get the accreditation within four months. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science, Mining and Mine Surveying Engineering departments got the authorisation.

NBA in its present form came into existence as an autonomous body with effect from 2010, with the objective of assurance of quality and relevance of education, especially of the programmes in professional and technical disciplines, like Engineering and Technology, Management, Architecture, Pharmacy and Hospitality, through the mechanism of accreditation of programmes offered by technical institutions.

 

The College received special recognition after getting this authorisation by NBA. This will help students to get jobs in the country as well as in abroad. Dr Rajeshwari Wankhade, chief and co-ordinator of NBA Cell and S S Munde were also present during the press conference.
