ITM holds meet, workshop on Industry 4.0

For the very First time in Chhattisgarh, ITM University organised industry meet on ‘Skill development programme for Industrial 4.0’at Hyatt, Raipur on Friday. The programme included industry meet of Industry experts and leaders followed by hands on practice workshop in university campus on May 4. Industry 4.0 is a name given to the current trend of automation and data driven manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, Internet, cloud computing and cognitive computing. Industry 4.0 is commonly referred to as the fourth industrial revolution. The industry 4.0 has rendered the skills acquired in last millennium mostly ineffective and insufficient. In order to address the changing skill set needed by Industry 4.0 scenario, ITM group has started a series of Hi-tec Blue Labs.

These labs are equipped with modern hardware and software technologies catering to CAD, CAM, CNC, Robotics, Rapid Prototyping, IoT and Automation, which are the essential elements of Industry 4.0.These Hitec Blue Labs are developed in-line with Make in India initiative by our Prime Minister and aim at developing global engineers and technocrats who can support the country to become the factory for the world.
 
Chairman and Chief Executives from 60 large and medium scale industries participated in the event and other eminent speakers were General Manger of Universal Robots Denmark Mr. Pradeep David, Technical Officer of Universal Robots Denmark Manish Kumar Garg, Head-Strategic Product division Railways and Defence Worldwide Oilfield Pvt. Ltd. Harshavandhan Gune, Vice-President of ITM group Prof R S S Mani, General Manager HiTec Blue Labs Mr.Meka Srinivas Rao, and Senior Manager Hi-Tec Blue Labs Neelesh Kokate, Vice-Chancellor in-charge of University, Dr Sitaram Soni presented Projects on Hi-Tec Labs & Technological Development and Projects developed at ITM Raipur and the winner of the Young Scientist Award 2019,Chhattisgarh Prof. Akhilesh Tiwari delivered Technical Demonstration of Projects. Objective of the Meet is to evolve concrete action steps and strategies through a symbiotic relationship between academia and industry. Prof Mohit Sahu, Professor and Public Relation Officer of the University Dr Subrato Dey, Prof Yugal Kishor and Prof Akhilesh Tiwari organised the Industry Meet successfully. Further, the Workshop on Industry 4.0 is scheduled on May 4 (10 am- 5 pm) at ITM University Campus, Atal Nagar, Raipur. The workshop will have detailed demonstration of Collaborative Robot (COBOT) and practice sessions, in which technical officers and employees from various industries are invited.
