Structures hindering road construction removed

Anti-encroachment Department of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, on Friday conducted drive in Ranjhi area and removed a number of permanent structures which were hindering road construction work. Apart from that the anti-encroachment squad also removed tin sheds which got erected in front of shops in the sub urban area.

Senior officials of the department informed that a number of shopkeepers got erected huge tin sheds in front of their shops near Moni dairy in Ranjhi area. Apart from that they also got constructed cement platforms. The illegal structures on one hand were hindering traffic movement and creating inconvenience to commuters while on the other the permanent structures were also obstructing road widening work.
 
Hence to clear way for the construction work, anti-encroachment squad conducted drive and dismantled a number of cement platforms and other such structures. Likewise, the JMC employees also pulled down huge tin sheds from various shops. Officials said they have also warned concerned people to shun such practice in future or else would be deal with severely.
 
It may be noted that the Municipal Corporation is construction a cement road to organise traffic arrangement and provide ease to the denizen near Moni dairy in Ranjhi area. But, illegal structures which were mushrooming along the main road were hindering construction work. Hence the anti-encroachment department conducted drive and removed encroachments.
 
It may be noted that the anti-encroachment department is also cracking whip on people who place kiosks and deck commodities on footpaths, roads and create hurdle in traffic movement. The department is seizing handcarts, kiosks, pulling down tin sheds.While to act tough against the illegal act, the anti-encroachment department would prepare challans of erring shopkeepers and realise heavy penalty upto Rs 5000 from them.
