Woman ends life with two daughters by jumping into Upper Lake

A woman along with her two daughters committed suicide by jumping into Upper Lake in Shyamla Hills on Friday. Police said that woman was under depression due to family’s poor financial situation. Police fished out bodies of all three deceased and sent for autopsy.
 
 
 
Shyamla Hills police said that Laxmi Bai Shakya (30), wife of Avinash Shakya, jumped into Upper Lake along with two daughters, Monica (11) and Riya (8).
 
Laxmi Bai Shakya, a resident of Bainsakhedi, took extreme step under frustration and depression as her family was in abject poverty. Her son is suffering from dengue and admitted to a hospital. Her family was unable to bear the medical expenses of her son. Moreover, earlier Riya also suffered from dengue and used to remain weak. “It is suspected that she took the extreme step along with two daughters under depression,” said police.
Her husband Avinash does a job at the monthly income of Rs 8,000.
