New Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court given rousing welcome

Newly-appointed Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice P R Ramchandra Menon was given rousing welcome on his arrival to the capital on Sunday. Governor Anandiben Patel will be administering the oath of office and secrecy to Justice P R Ramachandra Menon on Monday as the 12th Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court, at Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.
 
The oath ceremony of the new Chief Justice is scheduled to begin at 11 am. Justice P R Ramchandra Menon was given charge as Chief justice of Chhattisgarh High Court on April 30 2019 by President of India after after the then Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi was appointed as the Member of Lok Ayog and subsequently he had resigned from the post of Chief Justice. Born on June 1, 1959, Justice Parappillil Ramakrishnan Nair Ramachandra Menon obtained his Law degree from the Government Law College, Ernakulam.
 
Thereafter he enrolled on January 8, 1983 as Advocate and started practice in Labour, Insurance and Constitutional Laws at Ernakulam. He was elevated as Additional Judge of High Court of Kerala on January 5, 2009 and appointed as Permanent Judge of the High Court of Kerala with effect from December 15, 2010. On Sunday, on his arrival at Pahuna, the State Guest House, Justice P R Ramachandra Menon was welcomed by Acting Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and other Judges of Chhattisgarh High Court, Judges from District Courts, senior administrative and police officers amongst others. The swearing-in ceremony to be held at Raj Bhawan on Monday will be attended by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Ministers and other guests.
