‘Formal education is not sufficient today’

15-day summer camp for children inaugurated at Darbar Hall of Raj Bhawan 
 
Governor Anandiben Patel stressed that the children should not be limited to formal education rather they should be encouraged to participate in other activities such as Music, Drama and Painting which help them in developing their personality. The Governor said that the definition of career has changed nowadays. Career is not restricted to degree or post graduate degree as students these days need to be expert in other disciplines to survive in this competitive world. The Governor stated this at the inauguration of the 15-day Summer Camp for children at Darbar Hall of Raj Bhawan on Monday. Children are being taught Yog, envelop making, rakhi making, bouquet making, best out of waste, rangoli, acting/drama and classical dance during the camp.
 
 
The Governor said that the parents should motivate their children to participate in such camp. “I had started such camp in Madhya Pradesh. Initially, the response was dull but children kept on coming as the day progresses,” said the Governor while addressing the gathering. The Governor said that there prevailing perception of VIP and VVIP when it comes to Raj Bhawan. People should remember that Raj Bhawan is not only for the Governor rather it is for all, said the Governor. There should be gap between Raj Bhawan and the common man and to bridge such gap a door has been opened for the colony of Raj Bhawan employees. Mentioning about Madhya Pradesh Raj Bhawan, she said that children used to come to Raj Bhawan garden and play different games.
 
 
The Governor said that she has given her mobile number to the children who can call if they face any problem. Secretary to the Governor Surendra Kumar Jaiswal said that many creative and innovative measures have been taken since Anandiben Patel took over the charge of Governor of Chhattisgarh. Also present at the inauguration function were Women and Child Development Department Secretary M Geeta, Legal Advisor to the Governor N K Chandravanshi, Deputy Secretary Roktima Yadav, Madhya Pradesh Raj Bhawan Deputy Secretary Keyur Sampat and students.
