I want certificate from farmers, not Shivraj: CM

Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Tuesday said that loans of around 21 lakh farmers have been waived off. The Congress government 10 days promise to waive off loan of farmers was actually processed within two hours which is our major achievement. Kamal Nath was talking at the press conference organised at his residence. Further, he said that “I speak late, I speak less but never tell lie.” He also acknowledged that the Election Commission has granted permission to transfer money to farmers account. Actually, on Tuesday morning, Shivraj Singh Chouhan had accused Kamal Nath Government of not refining the debt in the press conference.
It was also said that Kamal Nath has sent him the lists of agriculture department in support of loan waiver documents of farmers. Earlier, this morning the Congressmen handed over the evidence of the debt waiver documents of 21 lakh farmers to Shivraj Singh at his residence. He said that Chouhan should understand the fundamental thing that the documentation takes its own time and as promised by the Congress Government they did not take even stipulated time frame of 10 days but started process in a speedy manner within hours which itself is remarkable.
He also invited Shivraj Singh Chouhan to see the portal of Agriculture Department where all the information regarding loan waiver has been uploaded. Answering a question, Chief Minister said that around Rs 5,000 crore has been allotted in the budget for farmers’ loan waiver in March and after then code of conduct was imposed. He also said that Congress government knows how to prepare budget and they need not seek any advice for that matter. Further, he also added that he does not need certificate from Shivraj Singh Chouhan but certificate from farmers will speak the truth.
He also stated that they have received letter from the Election Commission dated May 7 and now the loan waiver process can be restarted. He alleged that BJP is misguiding the people about the loan waiver. At any cost, Congress government does not support violation of the code of conduct during elections and that was the sole reason why the loan waive off process was halt during elections and now as they have got the permission, they will be proceeding with the documentation.
