Two unidentified assailants stab BSP union leader

Victim leader did not name, but suspected the possibility of involvement of BSP contractors behind attack
 
 
IN an armed attack, a senior leader from BSP trade union (CITU) was repeatedly stabbed and inflicted upon serious injuries by two unidentified motorbike born assailants at Forest Avenue in Risali, Bhilai on Tuesday morning. The victim union leader was hospitalised for treatment and his condition was stated to be stable. After attacking the union leader, unidentified assailants sped away on their motorbike and they were reportedly at large till the last report came in.
 
 
According to information, at about 8:50 am on Tuesday, Yogesh Soni, General Secretary, Hindustan Ispat Theka Shramik Union (CITU) was on way to BSP when all of a sudden two unidentified motorbike born assailants stabbed him thrice while inflicting serious injuries at right side of his back and soon after attack they fled the spot, speeding the motorbike.
 
In the sudden gruesome attack, Yogesh Soni, a resident of Bhilai and Senior Technician at Power System Department, BSP sustained serious stab wounds but in spite of bleeding he somehow managed to travel about 4 kilometers’ distance on his motorbike and reached Main Medical Post (MMP), BSP for treatment. He was immediately attended by the doctors who applied first aid and refer him to JLN Hospital, Bhilai, considering the injuries of serious nature.
 
On complaint police registered the offence against unidentified assailants under sections 324 and 34 of Indian Penal Code for indulging in criminal acts of assaulting and causing grievous injuries and for common intention of crime. The incident was strongly condemned by representatives from various trade unions of BSP. Yogesh Soni, the victim CITU leader informed that he was shocked with sudden attacked and could not note down the motorbike’s registration number or see properly the attackers. However, the possible involvement of BSP contractors’ men could not be ruled out but the facts of the incident would finally be ascertained in police investigation, he said.
 
Talking to The Hitavada, Ajeet Yadav, CSP, Bhilai Nagar Police Subdivision informed that as usual the victim union leader Yogesh Soni was on way to BSP for attending duty when he was attacked by unidentified assailants, as he told to police. While recording his statement the victim also expressed about his suspicion before police. The gory crime is being investigated from all possible angles to track down the culprits behind attack, CSP Yadav added.
