Divisional Commissioner Dr Sanjeev Kumar has issued instructions to install boards on bridges and roads, which are damaged during rainy season. He has also directed to install barricades at dangerous places. He was addressing a meeting on disaster management, to review preparation before onset of monsoon.

 

 

 

In district like Gadchiroli communication is interrupted during monsoon. Adequate food grains and other essential goods should be ensured during monsoon. The instructions should be issued to the civil supplies officers concerned. All the districts should be prepared to handle any kind of disaster during the season. The Public Works Department was instructed to prepare a report on bridges and other dangerous places to the district collector. In case of any natural calamity bulk SMS may be posted. NDRF and SDRF should also be provided information about alternative routes by the district administration.

 

Dr Sanjeev Kumar has also stated that in case of heavy rains, the departments concerning immediate help and rehabilitation should be ready to act with short notice. Every department should appoint a nodal officer and his name and mobile number should be given to the Disaster Management Section. A presentation on preparation for any disaster, was also made on the occasion.
