The TEQIP-III cell of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU) Bhilai organised a lecture on the subject “Women Empowerment: Issue & Challenges” (with special relevance to Chhattisgarh State) at CSVTU Auditorium on Saturday. Deputy Collector of Raipur Poonam Sharma and Deputy Collector of Durg Divya Vaishnav graced the occasion as chief speakers. Usha Jain, OSD (Academic/ Administration) CSVTU was also present.
 
The lecture was organised for the professors and students of all engineering college affiliated to CSVTU. At the outset, the function commenced with garlanding the portrait of Goddess Saraswati and ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Poonam Sharma stressed on the need of education for girls. She said that the first and foremost thing that women have to do is to change their thinking and had to think for self. They must know how to keep themselves healthy and how to handle their family. She said that women must know their rights and how and when to use them.
 
Divya Vaishnav informed that how a mother can motivate her child to achieve success. Citing examples of renowned women personalities of Chhattisgarh like Teejan Bai, Saba Anjum she asked the women to know themselves, their health, safety, and education to move forward in life.
 
Usha Jain proposed the vote of thanks while Dr Ashish Patel, Dr Kshitij Verma, Dr Pankaj Gupta, Dr Abhishek Jha, Sonam Vaidhya, Rashmi Sahu, Smita Gupta, Sushmita Gauraha, ETD faculty along with TEQIP and CSVTU employees. The guest speakers were felicitated with mementos.
