Chhattisgarh Cabinet is all likely to meet on June 12, for the first time after Lok Sabha Elections-2019. The meeting which is scheduled to be held at Mantralaya, will be deliberating upon several significant issues like new transfer policy, on preparations for Kharif crop and delay in the arrival of Monsoon. The Cabinet is also likely to discuss the situation arising out of tribal gherao at NMDC mines in Dantewada. The Cabinet meeting which would be chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday, deliberation upon new transfer policy would take place which would be followed by state government lifting ban on transfer posting for government officials/employees for a period of one month.

Delay of monsoon in Chhattisgarh by approximately a fortnight has raised concern among both agriculturists as well as the state government. During the cabinet meeting, discussions would be held on preparations for the forthcoming Kharif season, disbursement of short-term agriculture loans followed by ensuring availability of sufficient standard seeds and fertilisers as well as their distribution among farmers. Political situation in Dantewada is embroiling due to massive mobilisation of local tribal population opposing handing over of the 10MTPA capacity Bailadila Iron-ore Deposit-13 at Kirandul in Dantewada district to Adani Enterprises Ltd as Mine Developer-Cum-Operator (MDO).

The issue of whether to continue Adani Enterprises Ltd as MDO or not might come up for discussion in the meeting. The Cabinet may also deliberate upon re-starting transport barriers in the state borders apart from holding discussions for other significant issues. The cabinet may also hold discussions on forthcoming Monsoon Session and fix its dates. Since the cabinet will be meeting after a period of three months under changed political scenario, there would be several other significant things which might come up for discussions.
