Guardian Minister takes review of developmental works

With monsoon knocking on the door, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule took out time to take a review of development works in city works wherein he issued directions as usual for repairing potholes to civic officials. He insisted that roads that are dug up for various works and they should be levelled up properly and especially potholes need to be filled in to ensure smooth riding surface. Power companies that have dug up road sides should immediately repair them before onset of monsoon to avoid problems for citizens.
 
The review meeting was held in Commissioner's office and Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Pravin Datke, senior corporator, MLAs Krishna Khopde and Sudhakar Kohale, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, other officials and corporators were present. Datke pointed out that power companies are laying underground cables for which they have dug up roads at various places but after work is finished the spot is not repaired. And on top of that the companies have asked for fresh permission at new places for digging up roads and during monsoon these trenches would prove troublesome for citizens.
 
 
The Minister directed officials of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to have proper co-ordination with officials of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), especially Chief Engineer. He warned of initiating disciplinary action against the officials of power company in case complaints of improper repair work is received. Land Titles: Bawankule also held talks with officials of Stamp and Registration Department over issue of demand raised for Rs. 44,000 duty from slum dwellers who were provided land titles by NMC.
 
This pertained to Nazul land and when beneficiaries went to office of Deputy Registrar they were asked to deposit the hefty amount for registry. The Minister talked telephonically and it is claimed by NMC that issue is now resolve. South Nagpur: He thereafter reviewed the issues pertaining to South Nagpur and ruled that District Collector will take decision regarding allotment of space for social organisation at Reshimbagh. Two groups have locked horns over right to use the sprawling premises at Samaj Bhawan of NMC. The work on Rajabaksha Deosthan should be started at the earliest from the allocated funds and also directed granting C grade pilgrimage site status to Ramana Maroti and asked civic body to initiate development works in the area. The meeting was informed that proposal to provide funds for development of amenities for devotees at Chhota Tajbag under Homeland Tourism head.
 
 
He also directed officials to hold a meeting regarding stalled work of pedestal for tri-colour at Kasturchand Park on June 11 and iron out the difficulties in construction. Dayashankar Tiwari, senior corporator, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Thakre, Chief Engineer Ulhas Debadwar, Pintu Zalke, Chairperson, Water Works Committee, Madhuri Thakre, Chairperson, Hanuman Nagar Zone, corporators Reeta Muley, Roopali Thakur, Swati Akhatkar and Dr Ravindra Bhoyar; Superintending Engineer, Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) Sunil Gujjalwar, Chief Engineer, MSEDCL, Dilip Ghugal, Superintending Engineer (City), MSEDCL, Dilip Dondke, Inspector, Hudkeshwar Police Station, Sandeep Bhosle, Dr Raman Senad, other officials of civic body were also present at the meeting.
