Earlier order to resume academic session in schools from June 18 still exists

Amidst reports that the schools across State would reopen on June 24 due to scorching heat, School Education Department Principal Secretary Gaurav Dwivedi on Monday made it clear that the Education Department is keeping a close watch on weather conditions and will take a decision accordingly. “We have not issued any order rescheduling the opening date of schools.
 
 
As per an earlier order issued by the School Education Department, schools across State, including private and Government, will reopen on June 18. We will let the schools know if the date of reopening is extended,” said the Principal Secretary when asked about a newspaper cutting of a Hindi Daily circulating in the social media. There is still one week left for the schools to reopen and the current hot weather condition may change.
 
“We have enough time to decide on the reopening of the schools,” said the Principal Secretary. According to the newspaper cutting carrying Raipur dateline, the State Government had issued an order asking schools across State to resume their sessions from June 24 keeping in mind heat condition might prevail for two more weeks in State. When asked the DEO if the district education office had any such order from State Government, DEO G R Chandrakar said that there was an order of Madhya Pradesh Government for the schools of Madhya Pradesh which is circulating in the social media. “We have not received any order from State Government regarding extension of school reopening date,” said the DEO. Meanwhile, the newspaper cutting had created a flutter among a group of private school principals who had been eager to know about the authenticity of the report.
