Book ‘Creativity & Architecture -- Essay’ to be released on June 16

The book ‘Creativity & Architecture -- Essays’ penned by Srishti Dokras will be launched in a programme at Maharajbagh Club at 12 noon on June 16 (Sunday). The book will be released at the hands of Prof Shirish A Deshpande, a leading architect and Fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects and President of the Institute from 1992-94.
 

 
 
Srishti Dokras is a former student of IDEAS. She is is granddaughter of Dr V M Dokras, former Director of VNIT and President of the Institution of Engineers, India. In 340 pages and 18 chapters of the book, Srishti describes various attributes of creativity and its connection to Architecture. She also examines architectural creations in India and abroad such as Ayodhya, Lanka, Angkor Vat etc. Of these 18 papers, 16 have been published online. Some temples in Indonesia and Cambodia were inspired by the architecture of Ayodhya, also has been explored in the book.
Ann Jarvinen, Head Librarian of Stockholm University, has described the book as ‘resourceful writing full of creative insights’. Earlier, Srishti has written a paper on REVIT Project Management Software for a book on ‘Project -- Human Resources Management’. The book is published by the Indo Swedish Authors’ Collective, Stockholm.
