Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Health Department teamed up with Medical and Health Department, Urban Health Programme and Epidemic Control Cell have begun inspection of Kushalpur area where 9 children have been diagnosed positive for water-borne disease of jaundice. As the water samples collected from the government taps of the area have been found up to the mark, officials are suspecting the children must have consumed contaminated food or water while summer vacationing somewhere else. The Health Department confirmed 7 positive cases of jaundice, out of which 2 have been admitted in Narayana Hospital for treatment.

These two kids have also reportedly out of danger while remaining kids are being given medicines under the monitoring of doctors in their homes. A medical camp also held at this area on Saturday. No new patient was diagnosed positive for the hepatitis. Mitanins and Health Workers also ran door-to-door awareness campaign, teaching people for taking precaution in order to prevent the diseases. The Health Department and Epidemic Control Cell teams conducted survey of the Tulsi Nagar area of the Kushalpur and deployed Para-medical staff to examine the patients.

RMC also put the sanitation team and lab technicians to support the camp. State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) Officials scoped out the area and interacted with the locals. SUDA Officials Chandrawanshi, Dr Amrit Chopra, Corporator Ramesh Thakur and Zone-6 Commissioner Vinay Mishra started the inspection. Anti-larvae chemicals sprayed into the sewers and medicines distributed to the people. All the water pipelines are being thoroughly re-checked and fixed wherever needed.
