For the first time in Maharashtra, admissions to all professional courses would be neither be under the authority of government medical colleges nor engineering colleges. Now, all the admissions will be held under State Common Entrance Cell through Setu Suvidha Kendra. State CET Cell will be its Competent Officer.

Those who are interested in taking admissions to technical education, agriculture, arts, fisheries and health science courses, such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPTh, BO and P, BOTh, BASL, B.Sc Nursing and appeared for various Common Entrance Tests have to register themselves for the admissions to respective courses at SETU assisted application registration (SAAR) and upload required documents and also verify them at respective nearest SETU centre. The districtwise centres are available on the website www.mahet.org. These centres will not only help students to check the documents but also guide them on the courses and other difficulties.

Students have to click on the website and register their names. After the registration, students will visit the Setu Suvidha Centres and get checked their documents, have their log in id, passwords. Students are expected to read the instructions on the website carefully and follow them scrupulously. There are 300 centres all over Maharashtra that will cater to the needs of students. In Vidarbha Amravati has 21 centres while, Nagpur region has 31 centres. In Nagpur region Hingna has four, Chandrapur and Wardha have three, Gadchiroli, Kamptee, Sakoli, Ashti, Mohadi, Umred and Gondia have one each, Nagpur Rural have six, Nagpur Urban have five centres.

In Amravati also Akola, Pusad and Washim have one centre each, Amravati has six, Shegaon and Buldhana have three centres each, Chikhli, Malkapur and Yavatmal have two centres each. Till last year, there were separate centres operating for all the professional courses. After the setting up of CET Cell, Government has gradually started bestowing powers upon the Cell to reduce the loads of the respective departments. Under this, the State Government is taking the help of private institutions. This will not only reduce the financial burden of Government departments but also decrease the physical and mental burden. Of course, CET Cell will be empowered more than the other departments as far as admissions are concerned.
