NMC starts segregation of garbage in Bhandewadi

The aim is to generate electricity from the garbage 
 
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has started segregation process of garbage that dumps in Bhandewadi dumping yard to generate electricity from it. This will give a relief to all residents of nearby areas from bad smells. Residents of East Nagpur raised the issue of bad smell and other health related problems spreading due to this dumping yard. Residents took out morchas and write letters to NMC many times but situation remained the same.
 
Keeping the poor situation in mind, finally the authority come up with an innovative sollution. NMC is going to reuse the garbage for electricity generation which will be also used in the city. Mayor Nanda Jichkar and MLA Krishna Khopde inaugurated the segregation machine at Bhandewadi on Sunday. The machine will sagrigated garbage in dumping yard and then it will send to Jabalpur for electricity generation. Krishna Khopde said that this machine will help to reduce air pollution and also help to imporve the health situation of residents of nearby areas. Similarly mayor said that initially 10 acre land will be transformed as garbage free. Thereafter, NMC will use this machine at all over Bhandewadi.
 
The electricity generation will be done by Essel Infraprojects Ltd and Hitachi Joshain India Pvt Ltd. Pradeep Pohane, President, Standing Committee; Bunty Kukde, President, Transportation Committee; Rajkumar Sahu, Chairman, Lakadganj Zone; Smita Chakole, Chairman, Nehru Nagar Zone; Dharmapal Meshram, Ram Joshi, Additional Commissioner; Aziz Shekh, Additional Commissioner; Sunil Khurana, General Manager, SNDL; Manisha Kothe, Sachin Karare, Manoj Agrawal, Harshad Ghatole, Sonal Khurana, Anil Kumar, Aniruddha Chauganjkar, Rajesh Dupare, Prashant Waghmare, Dr Pradeep Dasarwar, Rohidas Rathod, Moin Hasan and others were present during the inauguration function.
