Sex racket busted, seven arrested

With the arrest of seven persons, including two girls and a hotel manager, Raipur police on Sunday night claimed to have busted sex racket operational in city’s Ganj police limits. “Following a tip-off about sex racket, a police teams raided a hotel ‘Raipur Inn’ located near Raipur Railway Station under Ganj police station resulting in arrest of seven persons,” Kotwali City Superintendent of Police (CSP) D C Patel told The Hitavada.

CSP Patel further informed that the arrested were identified as hotel manager Saket Mukherjee (28), native of West Bengal; Dinesh Tripathi (44), a resident of Nehru Nagar under Kotwali police station; Ritesh Awasthi (42) of Jagdalpur; Amit Kumar (40), hailing from Jagdalpur; and Rohit Moolchandani (32), a resident of WRS Colony under Khamtarai police station. Two girls were also arrested from the hotel. Police will be producing the arrested accused in a local court on Monday, said CSP Patel, elaborating that further investigation in the case is underway. During the course of raids, objectionable materials were seized from the hostel rooms, averred police sources.
