The proposed set up will comprise investigating officers, legal advisors, prosecutors and counsellors apart from DNA laboratories and mobile forensic teams. In the letter, Kamal Nath said that crime against women and children is a sensitive issue. State Government is committed to deal offences against women and children with iron fist. For this initiative, support from the Government of India is urgently required. He opined that proposed set up cell constitution is the requirement of hour to handle crime against women and children, to investigate the crime against women and children, to purchase the equipment, for the constitution of dog squad etc.

He also said that necessary human resources, patrolling vehicles and office and buildings are also needed. Notably, politics is on boil in State after a minor girl was allegedly abducted, raped and killed by a lusty youth in Mandwa basti of Bhopal. BJP is mounting attack on Government over the incident. It was on Sunday that ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Mandwa Basti and announced to form Mohalla Samitis to check the menace of criminals so that safe atmosphere could be provided to girls and women. He also urged society to come forward in this work and said that this initiative is a non-political initiative to create safer atmosphere for girls.
