Mayor Pramod Dubey counts achievements of RMC, RSCL

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Mayor Pramod Dubey gave out a laundry list of successful infrastructural projects launched or completed in Raipur in the six months after the formation of government in a press conference on the theme of ‘Nava Anjor Se Gadhbo Nava Raipur’ on Monday. Talking about the projects implemented under the RMC and Raipur Smart City Limited (RSCL), Mayor stated that project ‘Clean Kharun’ is central India’s biggest river purification project. Four sewage treatment plants at Chandnidih, Kara, Nimora and Bhatagon are being established under the project. City also got a new landfill site at Sakri, where the dumping of city’s solid waste has also started. Modern technique is being used to prevent seepage of contaminated water directly into the underground water.
 
At the water supply arrangement front, work on 800 kilometers pipeline for an estimated cost of Rs 410 crores has also been commenced while 7 new overhead water tanks are being constructed. Out of these, Ramnagar overhead water tank has already completed. They are also focusing on conservation of the ponds and enrichment of underground aquifers.
 
A provision of Rs 4.46 crore has been made for renovation of Kari pond. A joint proposal of Rs 5.7 crores for the Kho-Kho pond, Bandhwa Pond, and Prahladva pond has also been drafted. The Intelligence Traffic Management System (ITMS) began functioning in February 2019. A modern, fully-facilitated inter-state bus terminus is also coming up at Bhatagaon. Multi-storey parking cum integrated city command centre , Shaheed Smarak complex renovation, Jawahar Bazaar parking cum commercial complex, town hall renovation, Pauni Pasari project aimed at giving space to small entrepreneurs, mechanical sweeping, housing for sweepers, affordable housing, and Mor Zameen-Mor Makan project.
