No rainfall recorded in Raipur despite overcast conditions

THE sudden cool conditions in the evening brought much needed delight from the day-long sizzling weather in the capital city on Monday. Though Bhilai recorded good thundershowers in the evening, no rainfall was recorded despite overcast conditions in Raipur. Apart from Bilaspur recording the state-level high of 40.7 degree, all other cities were below 40.0 degree mark. According to the Meteorological Center, Raipur, moderate rainfall was recorded at some places while medium to very heavy rainfall was received at one or two places in the state on Monday.
 
 
Dhamtari recorded the highest rainfall of 90mm followed with Lohandiguda 80mm, Mainpur, Tamnar and Bastar 70mm, Jagdalpur 60mm, Kurud and Gunderdehi 50mm, Devbhog, Magarlod, Gurur and Bakawand 40mm each, Nagri, Saraipali, Basna, Rajnandgaon, Bastanar, Sukma, Bhanupratappur and Bhairamgarh 30mm, Bilaigarh, Gariaband, Balod, Dondilohara, Bemetara, Lailunga, Darbha, Tokapal, Keshkal, Charama and Antagarh 20mm while 10mm and less rainfall was recorded at many places across the state. In the statewide forecast, Met Center has stated on moderate to medium rainfall or thundershowers at some places in the state on June 18. There is a warning of chances of thunderstorm at one or two places. The sky will be partly cloudy with thunderstorm or showers likely in Raipur on Tuesday.
