Passengers can enjoy scenic beauty in ‘Heritage Train’

Heritage Train coaches will be replaced with vista-dome coach
Smoke engine will be running the train for spectacular view
It is for the first time in Madhya Pradesh when passengers would get pleasure to travel in ‘Heritage Train’ that will provide spectacular view of natural waterfalls and lush green mountains. Though train has been flagged off on Monday but its coaches will be replaced with the ‘vista-dome’ coach within six months that has transparent roof and walls which let the passenger enjoy scenic beauty during their journey. After replacing the coaches, entire train will be running with the smoke engine and passengers would be able to see even the smoke of train.
The Heritage Train has been introduced by Western Railway (WR) under Ratlam Railway Division in between Ambedkar Nagar-Patalpani-Kalakund. The area is enriched with flora and fauna and it attracts the people at large. Once after boarding the train, passenger would have pleasure of natural greenery throughout the journey. Railway Board has given final nod to bring steam engine for the train from Rewari Steam Locomotive Shed. From June 17, train has started running with general coaches with diesel engine. The train will be running on every Saturday and Sunday. The train will be passing through four tunnels, 24 sharp turns and 41 bridges to let the passengers enjoy a mesmerising trip. West Central Railway (WCR) PRO J K Jayant said, “Concept of Heritage Train with vista-dome coaches and smoke engine has been introduced to attract the tourist around the globe. Patalpani-Kalakund section has been decorated along with development of dozens of tourist spots.
The train would have two vista-dome coaches including reserved and unreserved.” Ticket counter for this Heritage Train would start three hours before departure of the train and sale of the ticket would get closed just ten minute before departure. Railways is yet to decide over online ticket booking for this train. Passengers can purchase ticket for this journey only from Ambedkar Nagar and Patalpani station. Fare charges of this train include Rs 240 per seat for first 12 seats for travelling from Ambedkar Nagar, Rs 210 per seat from Patalpani to Kalakund, Rs 105 per seat from Kalakund to Patalpani and Rs 120 per seat from Kalakund to Ambedkar Nagar.
The train-52965 would be departing from Ambedkar Nagar at 11:05 hours and will reach its destination Kalakund at 1:25 hours via Patalpani at 11:15 hours. In return journey the train-52966 would be departing Kalakund at 3:34 hours and arriving Ambedkar Nagar at 4:30 hours via Patalpani at 4:02 hours. Railway officials said that earlier train was launched in December 2018, but due to lack of passengers, the train was stopped. They said in March, hardly one or two passengers were travelling in the train. As monsoon is arriving, passengers would love to travel in the train. They said after replacing the coaches with vista-dome, its demand would be rising.
