Two children from Chhattisgarh returned home after spending nearly 7 months in a child protection home in Pune of Maharashtra. The kids were released with the efforts of Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya. It was a moment of overflowing emotions when the children hugged their parents while tears of pleasures trickling down from their eyes. Parents failed to contact the Government of Maharashtra owing to their illiteracy.

So, they requested Minister Dahariya to bring back their kids Manjnu and Shalini. Minister initiated the process of returning the kids with the help of Chhattisgarh Women and Child Development Department. The efforts paid off as the kids get back to the safety and comfort of their homes on Tuesday. Boy Manjnu Nat and girl Shalini Dhidhi were caught by Maharashtra Police while they were performing street show on National Highway and lodged into the Protection Home.

On the request of their parents, Minister wrote to Child Welfare Committee Chairman of Maharashtra and District Child Protection Officer, requesting them to repatriate the kids. In the letter, Dahariya stated that it would be in best interest of children that they are reunited with their parents so as their future could be secured. Parents even gave an affidavit, pledging never to push their kids into the street performance. Shalini Dhidhi (8), daughter of Jeevanlal Dhidhi, is resident of Riwa Police Station in Mandirhasoud District whereas boy Manjnu Nat (11), son of Jeevrakhan Nat, a resident of village Bargaon Post Paamgarh Police Station in Janjgir-Champa district.
