BMC organises Bhopal Merger Day celebrations

Bhopal Merger Day celebrations were organised at Shaheed Gate in which Bhopal Mayor Alok Sharma also participated. Floral tributes were paid to the martyrs, freedom fighters and social reformers. Colourful balloons were released into the sky on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he informed that India got freedom in 1947. However, Bhopal was freed after two years.
With the adamant attitude of Nawab, people of Bhopal had to agitate for merger. Remembering the martyrs, he said that martyrs should be worshipped and that is reason every year merger day is celebrated with variety of activities. He congratulated the Bhopal Municipal Corporation officials for celebrating the anniversary of Bhopal State merger.
To maintain the freedom of the country, he called upon the people to get ready to devote everything. He also called upon the people to follow their civic responsibilities for taking their city and State ahead on the path of development.
