Congress introspects bad performance in LS polls

A meeting of Congress Legislative Party (CLP) was held in presence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and State Congress In-charge P L Punia at Chief Minister’s official residence on Saturday evening. The party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections was discussed in the meeting. Strategies were also chalked out for better coordination between the Government and the party organisation so that the Government functions smoothly in State and win trust of the people. Various other issues were also discussed in the meeting raised by MLA’s.
 
Cabinet Ministers T S Singhdeo, Tamradhwaj Sahu, Mohammad Akbar, Kawasi Lakhma, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, MLAs Dhanendra Sahu, Takhatpur MLA Rashmi Singh, Shailesh Pandey and other MLAs attended the meeting. All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretaries for Chhattisgarh Dr Chandan Yadav and Dr Arun Oraon were also present in the meeting. In order to analyse the party’s poor performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the working committee meeting of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) will be held at State party office Rajiv Bhawan on Sunday, informed CPCC’s Communication Department Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi.
 
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 am. The meeting of Lok Sabha candidates, who contested the elections on Congress tickets, will be held at Rajiv Bhawan at 12 noon on the same the day. Later the meeting of District Congress Committees (DCCs) presidents will be held at Rajiv Bhawan at 2 pm on Sunday, Trivedi added.
