Patwaris will have to sit at HQs for two days in a week: Rajput

Revenue and Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput has said that major innovative steps have been taken by his departments to reduce the problems faced by people in land-related cases and transport -related things. Now it is mandatory for patwaris to sit at the headquarters for two days in a week and if any patwari does not follow the norm then he will have to face the music. Meanwhile, his department has decided to take back unused 1000 acre land from BHEL so that it could be used in other public works, the minister said. Addressing a press conference, Govind Singh Rajput said that patwaris’ shortage is going to be sorted out by filling the vacant posts.
 
Now, the demarcation norms have been amended to ensure that demarcation process does not take long time. Even help of private agencies will be also taken in this regard. For demarcation, a new technology Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) has been proposed. Earlier, all villages of gram panchayat were not in same tehsil and this used to cause huge problem to people. Now, provision has been made to keep entire area of gram panchayat in one tehsil itself. This will felicitate in administrative works. Talking about mutation cases of land, he told that in every three months, Collector will come to know about pending cases of mutation and he can give necessary information to his subordinates for redressal of pending cases.
 
Roadmap of Revenue Department is being prepared, he told. The process of cutting trees standing in private land has been also facilitated. Most importantly, compensation under RBC 6-4 would not be less than Rs 5,000. Earlier, reports used to pour that farmers have even received very less compensation. Talking about Transport Department, Rajput told that commercial license process has been simplified. Driving testing tracks would be constructed at divisional level. Automatic fitness centre will be established in major cities for vehicle checking. For public transport, GPS-based control-cum-command centre will be prepared. AC buses will be run on the routes of State capital, important cities and till tourist places.
