Jabalpur’s 3 players win 4 medals for India in World Kung-Fu C’ship

It is first time in the history of India when father and his son simultaneously represented the Indian team in international competition and clinched medals for the country n Another pride for Jabalpur is that its players contributed four medals in total 9 medals of Indian team 
 
Proving their excellence, Jabalpur’s three players clinched four medals for Indian team in the 8th World Kung-Fu Championship organised in China. It is first time in the history of India when father and his son simultaneously represented the Indian team in international competition and clinched medals for the country.
 
Another pride for Jabalpur is that its players contributed four medals in total nine medals of Indian team. Representing the Indian team, international repute Wushu Coach, Manoj Gupta bagged a bronze medal in Southern Style Nanchvan (Wing Chung) competition, while his son Divyansh Gupta clinched two bronze medals in Jiyanshu and group event, while Shraddha Yadav won a bronze medal in group event and raised the name of Jabalpur in international championship. Around 4,000 men and women players representing 92 nations participated in the championship organised by International Wushu Federation and Sports Bureau of China.
 
It may be noted that, Manoj Gupta, Divyansh Gupta and Shraddha Yadav were amongst 27-member Indian team. Indian team won total nine medals, including a silver and eight bronze medals. It is a matter of pride that four of the nine medals were clinched by players of Jabalpur. On this historic achievement, State Minister for Sports, Jitu Patwari, State Minister for Finance, Tarun Bhanot, State Minister for Social Justice, Lakhan Ghanghoria, Director (Sports), Madhya Pradesh, S L Thousan, Indian Wushu Association, President, Bhupendra Singh Bajwa, Secretary, Suhail Ahmed, Madhya Pradesh Wushu Association’s N K Tripathi (Retired IPS), IG, Jaideep Prasad, Dr Jitendra Jamdar, MP Wushu Association, Secretary, Sarika Gupta, Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association, Secretary, Digvijay Singh, District Sports Officer, Santosh Singh Rajput and others congratulated the players and wished them success in future.
