They were holding placards carrying slogans slash electricity bills to half. Earlier, protesters led by MLA Rameshwar Sharma started march from Om Nagar and reached Bima Kunj. Addressing the people, Rameshwar Sharma told that basic amenities like electricity, road, drinking water etc have collapsed in the reign of Kamal Nath government. The increased rates of electricity bills are giving shock to people. He alleged that by giving hefty power bills to people, Kamal Nath government is trying to do a big scam in the name of electricity.

On the other hand, Congress workers are in hand in glove with electricity employees and are looting people in the name of settlement of electricity bills. In the memorandum handed over to competent authorities, he demanded that State Government should form all party MLAs meeting for investigation into increased electricity bills. He also demanded that government should redress the sewage problem of Kolar apart from paying attention on pathetic roads and should order to start the stopped development works in Kolar. Demonstrators said that they have received electricity rate from Rs 2500 and to Rs 50,000.
