Monsoon expected to hit State within 72 hours

Pre-monsoon activities continue to provide light to moderate showers to isolated places of State. As of now, sky is dotted with partial cloud cover. In last twenty four hours, some places were battered by rains. Weather Department has forecasted rains in many parts of State in next twenty four hours.
 
As month is inching towards its end, people are anxiously waiting for arrival of south west monsoon. It is being anticipated that monsoon may make its entry in couple of days. Unlike Thursday, there was no rainfall activity in state capital till Friday evening. However, plumes of black clouds continue to hover in the sky. In last twenty four hours, rains lashed sundry parts of Shahdol, Indore divisions. Major rainfall figures were recorded in Kukshi, Mhou (2 cm each), Sardarpur, Badwani, Jethari (1 cm each). As pre monsoon activities became less, hence people are feeling the pinch of humidity. Hoshangabad posted highest maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
 
In its forecast Weather Department said rains accompanied by thunder activities and gusty winds are likely in some places of Umaria, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori, Indore, Dhar, Khandwa, Khargone, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Badwani, Burhanpur, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singhrauli districts. Rains are also likely in few parts of Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Katni, Neemuch, Shajapur, Raisen, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Sheopur Kalan, Guna, Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Sehore districts. Bhopal will continue to witness partial cloudy weather.
 
Weather Department added that as of now, conditions are favourable for onset of monsoon. The progress report of monsoon indicates that it may reach East Madhya Pradesh after 72 hours. During the day period on Friday, showers drenched Ratlam (16mm) and Indore (2mm) respectively. By seeing the black clouds hovering in sky, people are hoping that monsoon season is almost to knock the doors of state within couple of days.
