Help rural craftsmen in getting loans by making them skilled: Yadav

Minister for Cottage and Village Industries, New and Renewable Energy Harsh Yadav said that concrete steps should be taken to make rural craftsmen skilful and to help them in getting loan assistance. In a meeting held at Mantralaya, he gave instructions to provide necessary assistance to real beneficiaries by ensuring immediate redressal of self-employment cases at bank level. Yadav stated that necessary assistance should be made available immediately from banks to those beneficiaries, who have been made skilled in their trades.
 
During the meeting, Yadav discussed with officials as regard to mulberry cocoon production, silk thread production, works of silk federation, assistance in branding of handicraftsmen’ products, loan assistance to weavers, provision of exemption in sale of Khadi products and to increase sale of Vindhya Valley products. He told the officials for bringing speed in the departmental activities. During the meeting, information was given about a scheme to benefit 600 beneficiaries this year in 18 clusters under the Integrated Cluster Development programme. Moreover, it was informed in the meeting that works of skill development, marketing assistance, product development and financial assistance etc. would be done by incurring an expenditure of about Rs. 5 crore under the cluster development programme in the current year.
